YIKES!!!! and then some

The goal from last week was met I won 2nd place for the week, in the stash busting on crochetville. Then it happened.......a box came into work from a yarn mfg. I walked it over to the product manager and in a causal comment over the shoulder "Hey if there is something in there I might like....keep me in mind" There was.....38 skeins later I am now sitting in the negatives for this to really set the score high I went out and purchased some yarn for my baby round ripple (RR). Totally killing all my work of stash busting. But I am sooo okay with this :)

Now I want you to know I did go through my stash looking for a soft lavendar or a mint green to use on the baby RR, but no luck.......however I did find quite the stash of balls that can be busted down into granny squares or grannies daughters. I will be working on that next weekend.

I have a large bag of goodies going to mom for her church - baby blankies, bibs and hats, pictures are shown above. Somehow that last step of "departure" never seems to get off the ground when I complete something.

Have a great week!!!!

This weeks goal

Well a new week is upon us and I have a goal for myself.....
To use up as much of my cotton yarn as possible. Thanks to a kind woman on Crochtetville I have a pattern for a pull over the head bib. So far I am busting through my stash......
funny while looking for more I ended up finding cotton yarn that has been discontinued.....better not fall in love with it again.....
I also found additional Dazzleaire yarn.....WOW talk about old yarn
Have a great week

New ghans on their way to Ohio's PRA

Tomorrow a box will be open and 7 new ghans will be presented to PRA (Project Rest Assured) This is a yahoo group that takes squares both crocheted and knitted and joins them together for ghans for teens in foster care in the Ohio area. Squares made by members have ranged in sizes from 6" to 12" and in a varied of colors and patterns. I lay them out for color combinations and many times I have to call in my youngest daughter to arrange and pick the approiate colors for the end product. She has a wonderful since of color choice and placement. Yes.... I can do the simple ones (ie: Red, yellow and blue or green, blue or even match some of the colors in the verigated yarns) but the ones that really are different I have to turn those over to the color aficionado, and trust her with the colors that are choosen and I know they will turn out perfect.
She has provided me with wonderful color combinations and groupings.

Another way is to adopt and entire ghan this way you choose the yarn and colors and pattern ....
One is shown as a June ghan below

Funny how you look for something to do and once inside a group it spins into a mad compulsion. Not one that I am angry with this ... but instead obsessed with and it soon takes over your free mind cells....I love it!! I try to figure out color schemes for the completed ghans which I like to call "works of love" WOL as I stand in front of yarn sales or in front of my stash......
But when you start dreaming of it well......thats when you know when your hooked (no pun intended)

Crocheting for a cause

Joined a crocheting charity team called Crocheting for a cause
Creating masterpieces of crocheted squares for cancer. Each color square will represent differnet cancers (how horrible we have soo many to choose from)
I know I will be doing at least one in pink to honor my Aunt to died from breast cancer and two to honor my grandmothers.....I will have to ask my parents which cancer they had -funny how I have to ask...sometime my parents act as if they tell me which cancer they have then someone close will get it.
