Two new blankets off the hook

First one is a baby blanket requested by "C" at work having a new baby and wanted a new blanket for the the ride home. Made with Joann's Yarn called Cuddle and the veragated is Cuddle Muffin was a joy to work with.
The second blanket is also for "C" at work and is for older brother, looking for a blanket to replace past blankets took the Circle in a sqaure pattern from Lion Brand and just used the middle square for all squares. Used a lot of yarn (totaling over 2800 yards) used Caron one pounders for the background color and Red Heart saver for the center colors

Happy with both results ,........ now to find out if "C" is.......gulp

Christmas ornaments 2011

Got the idea from a pinterest view and read through her blog, she made them into hearts for valentines day with musical scores and words of love, between inner cereal box bag.

I used tissue paper (red) or parchment paper, stamped 1 of three Christmas themes, embossing powder. Using lace paper in my stash from previous job and sewed together with either maroon, fern green or gold thread. I loved them

I would love to thank my daughter for sharing the web site :) happy momma~~

2011 years charity projects

As I reflect on all that I have done this year and the changes that have been made, I want to give thanks to those who have allowed me to continue my path of charity projects. First and foremost the Lord above for His talent He has given me, and the patience He has given my precious husband.
We are now empty nesters after 28 years and have two extra bedrooms. My thought was to change one into my craft room and decorate with that thought. The other room is now a guest room (have no idea why as we rarely have anyone wanting to do a "sleep over" including the birds that have left the nest. lol
For the Veterans
I have gently taken over the dresser and tv stand with newly acquired yarn (yes you leave them behind I move in.. like a squatter) longingly look at the closets wishing they were emptied so I can move more into them.
Below are the items I have donated to charities this year, I have not capatured all of the donations but feel this is a far share. Those receiving my donations: Veterans, Children and recently a place in the area that has needs for newborns (un-real that there are areas here in the USA -one of the riches placest on earth)

All these baby items went to my Mothers church for their "baby shower"

Hats for the Veterans
Hats for the Veterans

A lot of the hats made were made on a knitting machine call Innovations, after doing 2-3 a night, hand making them on knitting needles is much slower. LOVE that machine.
That takes me back to those I am thankful to that would be my fibre friends Jan at Just 4 Ewe (for the use of the knitting machine) and to Betsy for the donation of the yarn (she determined that working with yarns and fibre has been very hard on her hands and has decided to end that part of her lives journey)
To those who will recieve my donations I pray they keep you warm and know that when I was making them I was thinking of you and praying that some how you know there are those who love you and pray for your strenght in this time of need.  I look forward to working on more in the future!

June 2011

June is starting off as a FO month. FO stands for finished objects. Finished off a few things on my needles, so I can start new projects. Techinally the scarft was finished in May ...Green sweater is for my niece can not wait to give it to Grandma (she doens't know its heading her direction, Grandma is care taker for Ellie 3 days a week and when they go for their walk Grandma is worried about a chill - so being a SUPER Auntie I thought I would whip one up)

Pattern from Lion Brand called sideways sweater. Picked up yarn from Michaels called Loops & Threads Silky Soft was on clearance and picked up yarn

Pattern called Appalachia was part of May KAL in 11 hats in 2011 on Ravelry. Pattern was donated by Audry Nicklin, used sock yarn had fun and it was a learning experience (strand knitting)

Group on Ravelry -theme for the month was food. Did not have a need to make any food so I choose a yarn with a food name (Red Heart Super Saver-color Melonberry) used the Scrunchable Scarf by Susan McConne pattern. Another charity item

Peggi's Fingerless gloves in her colorway Neon colors. Model sleepy husband - funny what they will do when sleepy -  lol

Another hat for Charity - Meriboo yarn by Frog Tree in tan. Pattern used is one that I have been using a lot of have enjoyed Hats from the Heart by Cheryl Andrews , Wooly Bear Hand Knits

BUSY BUSY

have been working on many hats....guess that is my theme for the year......but then again fall back into doing baby blankets so I guess I really am still the same.

Youngest bird has left the nest and I constantly worry about her, I pray that I have enough strength to fly! Please Lord look after her and Holy Spirit help! AMEN
